Alfred B. "Fred" Mock went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Fred was born on March 26, 1917 in Fort Smith, Ark. to the late Alfred and Mary Mock. He grew up in Fort Smith with sister Mary and brother Milton. Fred graduated from St. Anne's Academy. He was an Air Force Veteran and met his future wife while stationed next to her college in South Carolina. He married and enjoyed over 70 wonderful years with Caroline Williams. Fred graduated from the University of Arkansas. He and Caroline lived in several locations briefly. They settled in Fort Smith when he joined his dad in his insurance business. They raised their four children in Fort Smith and lived in the home they built over 63 years ago. He had a successful career as an Independent Insurance Agent. He enjoyed his partnership in Mock and Lively until he retired. Retirement was a dream come true. Fred loved to play golf and finally could play often and played into his 90's. He had many other hobbies through the years. He was a Ham Radio Operator, was a talented artist and a great bridge player. He loved to travel and he and Caroline had wonderful times on their motor-home trips. Fred was a devout Catholic and was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church for over 65 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife Caroline, sister Mary, his four children, Fred (Jerri Ann) of Conway, Ark., Carol Anne (Jerry Rakosky) of Edmond, Okla., Harry (Michele) of Fayetteville, Ark. and Jimmy of Edmond, Okla.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Wake service will be held at Fentress Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. and a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Little Stone Chapel at Christ the King Catholic Church.
