Irvin Dewitt Conley, 79 of Scott, while in the arms of his family and the singing of Amazing Grace, went home to meet Jesus and Mom, April 22, 2014. He was born July 3, 1934 to Charles Irvin Conley and Stella Mae Poteete Conley Faulkner in Sardis Crossing, Arkansas. He moved to England, Arkansas as a young man, where he met his wife and they raised six children. Even with all the hardships that he faced his whole life, from humble beginnings, difficult relationship with his step dad to medical issues later in life, he was never bitter. Instead he was kind and giving to anyone he met that needed help. An example of this was the winter of 1983 an unexpected snow came through and there many wrecks that day. Dad came across a lady that had had a wreck and he sat on the side of the highway in the cold and snow for two hours waiting for the EMTs to come because the lady had head injuries and could not be left alone. He was a Godly man who raised his children to know the grace of God and all his goodness to him. He was a man of simple pleasures such as hunting deer, dove and duck, fishing, raising chickens, gardening, camping, and riding four-wheelers. He had been a life long farmer. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Betty Conley, his parents, step-dad, four brothers, three sisters, one daughter, five grandchildren and one son-in-law. He is survived by his children: Rebecca (Gary) Phillips of Marion, Arkansas, Lou Ann (Roy) Bullock of Keo, Arkansas, Tony (Charlotte) Conley of Hurlbert Field, Florida, Curtis (Hope) Conley of Ward, Arkansas, Rosemary (Mark) Walker of Sherwood, Arkansas, Shaun (Karen) Conley of Joplin, Missouri, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother, James Faulkner of California, sister, Margie Wright of Texas, many cousins including Ed and Shirley and many nieces and nephews. His pets: Sweetie and Pipsqueak. The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Conley for all the years of care you have given dad, the nurses in 1A and ICU who helped dad and us these last few days of his life. Visitation will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Roller England Funeral Home, 202 Stuttgart Highway, England, Arkansas. Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at Cornerstone Worship Center, 301 Campbell Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas with Rev. Jack Jones, Rev. Randy Sudduth, and Rev. Kody Price officiating. Burial will take place in Mulberry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
