Edward "Ted" William Apps

EDWARD (TED) WILLIAM APPS, 98, of Little Rock passed away on April 27, 2014. He was born April 24, 1916 in Puyallup, Wash. to recent immigrants from England, the late Richard and Alice Apps. Ted was predeceased by his wife, Freddie Byrne Apps, and his brother, Ernest Apps. Survivors include his daughter, Alice Apps Watts (Richard) and granddaughter, Peyton Caroline Watts, of whom he was exceptionally proud. Ted retired from a career with IBM as an electrical engineer having previously served in the U.S. Navy in WWII where he was wounded in the invasion of Sicily. He was a quiet, dignified man with a deep faith in God. A longtime member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Texarkana, he was instrumental in the early days of the Friendship Center in that city. His loving patience endeared him to all. The family would like to thank the kind and supportive staffs of Emeritus at Pleasant Hills; MICU at St. Vincent's Infirmary; and caregivers, Marilyn and Levisha. There will be a private graveside service. Family requests that memorials be made to the Texarkana Friendship Center, 620 West Fourth Street in Texarkana, Texas 75505. Arrangements are by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211, Phone: 501-224-8300. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
