Harold F. Vernon passed on August 3, 2014. He was born May 31, 1930 in Hodges, Alabama. Harold, a Korean War Veteran, loved peaches, the color blue, fishing and football. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, and the high value he placed on the importance of honesty. We will miss his fun-loving sense of humor, and the way he enjoyed the small things in life. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Donna Vernon, his daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Frank Moore, and his grandson, Zach Moore. 'Special Thank you's' to the following: Little Rock Hospice Home and In-Patient Care-we are profoundly grateful for your gentle and compassionate care. To Ms. Debbie Montgomery-we are very thankful for all of your acts of kindness. You made Harold (or 'Mr. Wonderful' as you called him) feel so special. You may have started out as our pharmacist, but you also quickly became our friend. And to Dr. Jim Shuffield-we are so very grateful for the years of care, knowledge, and patience that you provided. Harold always said that 'You were a great doctor, and a great man'- and we wholeheartedly agree. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity that either provides care for Alzheimer's Patients, or conducts research towards finding a cure. Visitation will be held Wednesday August 6, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wedington Cemetery. To sign the online guest book visit www.nelsonberna.com.
