Margaret Downie Hutchings Brown

Margaret Downie Hutchings Brown, born in Little Rock,and a resident of Elberta passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 surrounded by her family. Margaret, a gracious and loving woman, a strong advocate of family and children, loved the color purple. Born to Helen Harley Downie and Judge Edward Blake Downie, she was the youngest of seven children. Margaret married Norman Hutchings in 1943. They were blessed with four children, Margaret "Peg" Hutchings Radcliff (deceased 1986), Webb Hutchings (deceased 1967), Ann Hutchings Campbell and Tom Hutchings. She is survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and 10 nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Josephine Baptist Church, P.O. Box 247, Elberta, Ala. 36530.
