Betty Jean Greenwood

Betty Jean Fortner Greenwood, age 77, of Perryville, passed away, Wednesday, August 6, 2014. She was born May 26, 1937 in Laurel, Mississippi, a daughter of the late William Thomas (W.T.) Fortner and the late Minnie Mae Pearson Fortner. She was a Homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Perryville, member of the Eastern Star, and member of AGLOW. Survivors include her son, Samuel Harris "Chip" Greenwood Jr. of Cabot; daughter, Lisa Kaye Greenwood George and special friend, Suzy Stane of Perryville; grandchildren, Robert Alexander George and Danielle Alyse George; sister, Barbara Ann F. Mitchell; brother, James Wiley "Bud" Fortner and wife Sharon; brother in law, Robert Schwartz and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Harris Greenwood Sr. and sisters, Billie F. Schwartz and Linda Kate F. Miller. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at First Baptist Church of Perryville with Dr. Mike Stanley officiating. Burial will be at Perryville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 8, at the funeral home in Perryville.
