Clinton Smith Jr.

Clinton Smith Jr., 60, of Adair, passed away on Monday August 4, 2014 at his home. Private family services will be held at a later time. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor. Clinton Smith Jr. was born on September 22, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska at the Offutt Air Force Base; his father served in the Air Force and Army so the family moved around all over the world as he was growing up. As a teen, he set records in track at Pulaski Heights Jr. High, was active in football and was an "A" student in high school. He graduated from Nurnberg American High School in Germany in 1972. He then joined the United States Army in July of 1972 through 1975 then remained in the Army Reserves until 1978. Clint attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and TCC in Tulsa where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. He and Margaret Ann Stewart were married on January 28, 1977 in Miami, Okla. In 1986, they moved to Adair, Okla. where they farmed and raised their children. Clint was very dedicated to his work. He recently retired after nearly 20 years from Williams, the energy company. Clint was a kind and compassionate person who would do anything he could to help others. He loved his family very much and in his spare time he was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing, watching football, playing cards and spending time with his brother hunting. He enjoyed listening to music. Some of his favorite groups were AC/DC, Aerosmith and Jimmy Buffett. He is survived by his wife Margo of the home; four children Patrick, Clark, Tracy and Christopher; four grandchildren Blaze, Franklin, Lillian and Zoey; his mother and siblings of Cabot, Arkansas, Virginia Smith, Diana Fitzgerald and Doug Smith and sister Melissa Hampton and husband John of Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Patricia Smith.
