Algarie Gentry

Algarie Gentry, 86, of Searcy passed away on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. She was born Dec. 21, 1927 to Nathaniel and Winnie Poe King. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Paul Buster Gentry; son, Paul Gentry Jr (Pat) of Woodland, Calif.; daughter, Patricia Gerardo of Judsonia and Debra Padilla of Little Rock. Preceded in death by daughter, Vertee Gentry; mother, Winnie Watkins; sister, Anna Lee Lund; and brother, Pink King. She will be missed by all to include nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren and of course her beloved little dog, Blackie; several of nieces and nephews. For over 30 years, she and Buster lived in Pittsburg, Calif. After retiring, they returned to Searcy. While in California, she worked at Camp Stoneman and then retired from Glass Containers. She and Buster enjoyed camping, fishing, and visiting Tunica. Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home (501)268-3546.
