Billy Cates

Billy Cates, 67, of Conway went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday August 14, 2014. He was born February 15, 1947 in England, Arkansas to James Cates and Eunice Epperson Cates. Mr. Cates was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church in Conway. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, volunteering for an extended tour of duty in Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Margaret Jones and a brother Lawrence Cates. Survivors include his wife of 44 years Sandra Cates, daughter Tamara Cates-Leising (Brian) of Central, South Carolina, son, David Shannon Cates (Lana) of Greenbrier and grandchildren, Lauren Leising, Katelin Leising, Haley Carpenter, Sara Cates and Lilly Cates. Other survivors include sister, Pat Jones (Jimmy) of Little Rock, brothers, David Gene Cates of North Little Rock and James Darrell Cates of Washington state along with a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday August 16, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Cornerstone Bible Church, 1095 Dave Ward Drive in Conway with Bro. Pat Hughes and Bro. Mike Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Need Creek Cemetery. Jimmy Weldon, Roger Hjelden, Mike Elrod, Mike Elrod Jr., Mike Warren and Mike Hightower will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Graham.
