EDWARD J. PILKINTON, (Ed), 72, of Sherwood passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 15, after a long hard battle with cancer. Ed was born July 8, 1942 in Cherokee, Ala. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Pilkinton, Claude and Ida Mae Coffel; brothers, Tom and Charlie. He leaves his cherished wife, Joy; and his daughter, Dacia whom he called his baby girl. Also surviving him are daughters, Lisa, Lynn, Laura and Jennifer; sons, Mark and John; grandchildren, Megan, Jaidyn and Elijah; brothers, Herb (Marie), Chester (Louise), Larry (Missy), Kenneth (Jeannie); sisters, Martha Jean, Esther (Vic) and Martha Louise (L.C.); brothers-in-law, James (Susie), Jackie (Faye) and Joey; several nieces and nephews; and a long list of beloved friends. Ed spent four years in the navy and retired from Total in 1997. He owned several businesses in Sherwood and Little Rock areas. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 18 at The Church at Sherwood, 1061 Lantrip, Sherwood, Ark. 72120.
