Monte D. Meador

Monte D. Meador, age 80, of Hattieville, passed away, Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was born October 4, 1933 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, a son of the late Lawrence W. and Melba Fae Rucker Meador. He was a Federal Administrator with the Centers for Disease Control, served in the U.S. Army Paratroopers with the 82nd Air Borne Division and 11th Division at Ft. Campbell Kentucky. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, York Rite 32nd degree, Shriners, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Treva Lair Peck Meador of Hattieville; daughters, Vivica Meador of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Michele Meador of Reno, Nevada. He was preceded in death by a daughter, grandchild, three brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, at Harris Chapel with Dr. Bill Brown and Rev. Ben Rowell officiating. Burial will be at Old Hickory Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
