Johnny Raymond Dickson, 71, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014, in El Dorado. He was born August 24, 1942, in Calion to Ardie Dickson and Mildred Butcher. Johnny was a retired brick layer and many of his structures can be seen thoughout South Arkansas. He enjoyed going to garage sales, estate sales and auctions to find "treasures." The thing he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends. In good times and in bad, he always found a way to make the best of a situation. He was a very loving and compassionate person. His story telling and laughter will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Dickson; brothers, Kenneth Dickson and A.D. Dickson and his sister, Norma Jean Grady. He is survived by his sons, Terry Dickson and his wife Debra of Crossett and Greg Cardenas of Hot Springs; daughter, Deborah Clark and her husband Mark of North Little Rock; his loving companion, Melba Tomlinson; two grandchildren, Audra Dickson and John Dickson, both of Benton; sisters, Linda Harris (Jimmy) of El Dorado, Joyce Jones, Delora Holloman (Noel), Angie Warren, all of Little Rock and Barbara Upshaw (Kenneth) of Orange, Texas; sister-in-law, Barbara Dickson of El Dorado and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a gathering to celebrate his life from 5 until 10 p.m. Friday at the home of Barbara Dickson, 5249 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, Ark. 71730. A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. Services entrusted to Arkansas Funeral Care of Jacksonville. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the John Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, Ark. 71730.
