Wayne Edward James, 75, of Jacksonville passed away Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born in Cabot, Ark. to the late Vernon Avery and Edith Arlene Jones Williams. Wayne was of Church of Christ faith. He was with the North Little Rock Police Department, Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and retired from the Sherwood Police Department after several years in law enforcement. Wayne was a member of the Scottish Rites and #754 Sylvan Hills Masonic Lodge. Wayne enjoyed hunting and fishing and his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Doris Bush James; two sons, Rodney and Brian James and two daughters, Julie James Shamhart (Jack) and Carol Hoop; grandchildren, Janna, Jennifer, Rebecca, Chandler, Brandon, Jordan, John, Tammy and Chris; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home. 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400).
