Jessie Cheek

Jessie Cheek, a Lonoke and Arkansas County native for 98 years, passed away at UAMS Aug. 29, 2014 after a brief illness. She was of the Methodist Faith. Jessie was a cotton farmer's wife and retired with 25 years of executive housekeeping at Stuttgart Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy; a son, Johny Park; and a grandson, Chris Howell. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte (Sam) Scales and Jimmie Boyles of Lonoke; one son, Bill (Sherry) Cheek of Dewitt. Jessie had nine grandchildren; 17 great-grands; and five great-great-grands. Memorial Service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Grand Avenue Methodist Church, with visitation after the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Grand Avenue Methodist, Stuttgart or Humnoke Methodist Church, c/o Gerald Snider, Ulm, Ark.
