TIMOTHY EDWIN "TIM" BARRY was born on Nov. 11, 1953 in Montgomery, Ala., and peacefully passed away at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock on Aug. 27, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth (Gossett) and William James Barry. Raised as a "military brat" he lived in many states before the family settled in Hot Springs. Tim joined the Navy and served on the USS Stephen W Groves as an E-4 Operations Specialist. He enjoyed his military career and visited many European countries as a result. His hip was shattered while on duty and after recovery, he left the service. Tim received an associate degree of Electronics from ITT Technical Institute. He opened his own repair business and operated that for several years in Conway. He then worked as an electronics specialist for various companies until his hip became a permanent disability. Tim was a person who loved people. He loved Facebook and was always making new friends. He was a classic car fanatic, and worked for years to restore his '46 Chevy pickup. It was his pride and joy. He took it to many classic car events and it was commissioned to be used in the movie "The Last Ride". Tim is survived by his daughter, Shonna Fason; his brother, Matt Barry (Teresa); his sisters, Betsy Barry and Kathy Hatcher (Danny); numerous nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the doctors and CCU nurses of Baptist Medical Center for the loving care that they gave to Tim and his family. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice. A memorial wake, celebrating his life, will be held at a later date.
