SMSgt. Ray C. Parker, Retired, "K5LJC", 93, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was born October 3, 1921 in Bee Branch, Arkansas to the late M.H. and Lucy Pearl McDow Parker. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Ares Ham Radio Club and a Mason with Iron Springs Masonic Lodge. Ray was retired after 27 years in the United States Air Force, having served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was in the China Burma India Theatre. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Betty J. Parker; brothers, Len and Rex Parker; and sister, Iva Cowles. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Betty K. Parker; children, Gary Parker of Little Rock, Danna Heberlein (Tim) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Ryan Parker of Little Rock; sister, Oma Rigg of Hot Springs; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family that will miss him. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Landmark Cemetery.
