SMSgt. Joe W. Bogy USAF (Ret.) age 84, of Jacksonville passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014. He was born June 22, 1930 in Wabbaseka, Arkansas to the late Roy P. Bogy and Bunch Marshall Bogy. Mr. Bogy retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of service. During his military career he was stationed in 5 countries, he served during the Korean Conflict, Vietnam War and he also served with the Presidential Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base. Following his military career Mr. Bogy worked for Dassault Falcon Jet for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his pets and was well known for his fast pitch softball pitching skills. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Maxine H. Bogy, his brother, Roy and his sister Dorothy. He is survived by his daughters; Elizabeth B. Allen and her husband Ken of Dallas, Texas, Reverend Susan B. Russell and her husband Reverend Dr. David of Ames, Iowa, Dr. Lori Black and her husband Randy of Jacksonville, two granddaughters, Zoe Russell and Kelli Black and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express sincere thanks to Fox Ridge Assisted Living in North Little Rock for all of the care and compassion giving to Mr. Bogy for the last four years. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Scott officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.
