Stephen Russell Young
Stephen Russell Young, 64, of Cabot, died December 2, 2014. Born February 24, 1950 in Chanute, Kansas, he was the son of Earl Russell Young and Delores Theresa Wack Young. A Marine veteran of Vietnam, he was retired lieutenant from the Little Rock Police Department. The author and publisher of "Arkansas Criminal Law Manual" he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Little Rock Police Department Pension Board. He was of the Baptist faith. An avid Republican, he was proud of his children and the parents they became, and loved telling his wife more times a day than she could count that he loved her.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bruce W. Young. Survivors are his wife, Debra Young; children, Lisa Basco (Paul), Eliot Young (Nancy) and Angela Brawley (John); grandchildren, Lacey Young, Alexis Boyer, Lauren Basco, Madison Basco, Ella Basco, Ethan Young, Evan Young, Carter Brawley and Caleb Brawley; siblings, David Young and Christine Shain, and two step-sons, William Carr III and Jacob Carr.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock. (501) 661-9111. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
