AD Burks Jr.

AD Burks Jr., 68, of Twin Groves, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014. He was born on May 26, 1946 to the late AJ Burks Sr. and Lena Watson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Leo Watson, and sister, Bobbie Johnson. After attending Rosa Ford High School in Tunica, Miss. AD worked for Virco Manufacturing, Carrier Corporation, and Lamb and Associates. AD is survived by his wife, Loretta Burks; children, Marilyn (Ronald) Truesdale of Madison, Ala., Brenda M. Evans of North Little Rock, Bobby G. Burks of Beebe, Lisa M. Burks of Conway, and Michelle (Cedric) Bogard of Jacksonville, Ark.; brothers, William Brooks of Memphis, Tenn. and John L. (Linda) Watson of Tunica, Miss.; sisters, Rosa Wells of Robinsonville, Miss., Jerlean (George) Heard of Memphis, Tenn., Gloria Johnson of Tunica, Miss. and Margaret Patterson of Tunica, Miss.; sister-in-law, Savannah Vaughn of Dolton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Twin Groves.
