Allen J. Meachum

ALLEN J. MEACHUM, 85, of Maumelle, while holding hands with his loving wife of 64 years, peacefully left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. He was born April 4, 1929 in Batesville, Ark. to the late Lonnie and Zela Meachum. Allen was a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard, owner of the Ben Franklin store in Conway, retired real estate broker and, for the last seven years, served as a cheerful Walmart door greeter in Maumelle. He was a 30-year member of Agape Church in Little Rock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Winnie Meachum Brown and Earlene Meachum McMullin and a nephew, William "Bill" Brown. He is survived by his wife, Nina Cavenar Meachum; three sons, David (JoAnn) Meachum, Douglas (Brenda) Meachum and Daniel Meachum; two nieces, Annette (Marvin) McMullin Smith and Jane McMullin; one nephew, Robert "Bob" Brown; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
