Michael Christopher Tinnel

MICHAEL CHIRSTOPHER TINNEL, 71, of Little Rock peacefully passed away on Dec. 6, 2014 with his family at his side. He was born May 27, 1943 in Iola, Kansas to Olen and Fern Tinnel, As a young child, he lived abroad in Japan and Germany as the son of an Army officer. He graduated in 1962 from Mountain Home High School. He served in the United States Army Reserve until 1969. A hard working man he worked from the age of 14 in many jobs. He retired from Smurfit Stone in 2006. He continued to work until August of this year delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut in Benton. Carole, his wife of 46 years, preceded him in death by five months. He is survived by his loving children, Jennifer Thompson of Bauxite, Ark. and his son, Michael Tinnel (Sarah) of Benton, Ark.; grandchildren, Lauren (Mark), Kyle (Skylar), Jessica, Logan, Kara, Gracie and one great-granddaughter, Drew Renee; sisters, Linda Tinnel of Littleton, Colo. and Kathleen Tinnel, RSM of Laredo, Texas. The family wishes to thank Arkansas Hospice for their loving care of Dad and Dr. Jim Brewer for his constant care. Memorial may be made to Incarnate Word Convent, 3400 Bradford Street, Houston, TX 77025. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, with Rev. Mark Wood officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 9 starting at 6 p.m., with Rosary service beginning at 7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock.
