Charles Overton, 86, of England, Arkansas passed away December 9th 2014. Preceded in death by his parents Claude and Gladys Overton, Thelma Overton, his wife of 63 years and one sister, Sue Murphy. He is survived by his children Nancy Murdock (Danny) and Chuck Overton (Paula). Grandchildren Matt Murdock, Meridith Murdock, Maegan Norsworthy (Patton), Amber Jones (Steven), and Allison Overton, and five great-grandchildren and his Sister Judy Nall. Born July 21st 1928 in Star City, he was a retired farmer having worked for Cornerstone Farm and Gin Co for 42 years. A thirty-second degree Mason, Deacon, Husband, Father, Friend. He served in both WWII and the Korean War. He was a man of character who loved and served his Lord. He was a prayer warrior in as much as if he knew you he prayed for you. One of his greatest joys during his younger years was flying and later in life spending time with his grandchildren. After moving from the farm in Cornerstone to Pine Bluff in 1988 he and Thelma made their home there until her death in 2011. Shortly after that he moved to England to be near family. Services will be Friday, December 12th at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 201 E. Haywood, England, Arkansas, with burial following at Mulberry Cemetery. Visitation will be at Roller England Funeral Home (501)842-3939, Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, New Building Fund, 201 E.
