Dr. Thomas V. Allen Jr. went to be with his Lord December 10, 2014. Born December 3, 1946 in Meridian, Miss., he grew up in Vicksburg, was a radio personality, Television Anchor and graduated from Mississippi State and the University of Mississippi Medical School where he was student body president. He moved to Shreveport in 1978 to begin his 27 year practice of gastroenterology. He retired in 2005 to Castine, Maine and Little Rock, Arkansas. A true genius of a man with a great sense of humor, he spread joy and wonder to all who met him. A member of the Shreveport Medical Society, Episcopal churches in Shreveport and Castine, St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Little Rock, the Royal Order of Jesters, star of the Tom, Tom and John radio Show and a General in the Royal Albanian Air Force in Exile. He packed several lifetimes of love and laughter into his 68 years. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Frances Jamison and Thomas V. Allen Sr. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dianne Allen, his daughter, Laura-Ashley Overdyke (Lloyd) and granddaughters Lola and Piper Vivian, and stepsons Edward Budd and Nicholas Budd (Jennifer), and granddaughters Zoe', Bailey, and Leia. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Little Rock. Visitation will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home.
