Verna Odean Roberson

Verna Odean Roberson, was born on August 28, 1922 in El Paso, Arkansas to the late Will and Martha Quattlebaum. The family moved to Joy, Arkansas and Verna graduated from Searcy High School. Verna passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the age of 92 after suffering a stroke and a fall in her home. She was an excellent homemaker and an inspiration to her husband, children, and friends. She loved flowers and was the former president of the Amas de Casa and Cloverdale Garden Clubs. Verna was a Christian woman, strong in her faith and loved the Lord and her church. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Verna was preceded in death by her first husband, 2nd Lt. Douglas Faith, a B-17 Bomber pilot whose plane and crew went missing in action on November 11, 1944. Also preceding her in death was her second husband of 65 years, Jack Roberson; one infant son, John Leon Roberson; seven brothers, Marion, Connie, Bonnie, Clois, Denver, Doyle, and Ivan Quattlebaum; and one sister, Lorene Cole. Verna is survived by two sons, Doug Faith, and Bruce Roberson; two daughters, Jacque Howell, and Sarah Roberson; five grandchildren, W. Doug Faith, Wesley Faith, Joanna Barker, Leslie Thompson and Lindsay Brown; six great-grandchildren, Sadie Brown, Mazie Brown, Abigail Brown, Wally Faith,Emily Faith and Haden Faith; one sister, Rachel Cook; three half-sisters, Kathy Kaiser, Judy Hoofman, and Terry Simon; two half-brothers, Tom and Allen Quattlebaum; and one step-sister, Ollie Bell. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, December 12th at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home with the funeral service immediately following at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel and interment following at Oakgrove Cemetery in Searcy.
