Timothy Allan Tennyson, 61, of Smackover, Arkansas passed away December 9, 2014 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Albany, GA on April 2nd, 1953 to Jim & Francis Tennyson. Tim was a graduate of Smackover High School. He then went on to play football at the Citadel, Military College of South Carolina. Tim also was a record breaking sprinter for Ole Miss. In 1978 he moved back to his hometown of Smackover, Ark. where he worked by his father's side for Tennyson Oil Co. Tim later became the owner. He was a proud and faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Smackover, Ark. He would also attend First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, Ark. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, L.E. & Marjorie Tennyson and Francis & Opal Brewer; an aunt, Ann Matthews; a sister-in-law, Terri Tennyson and his father, James Tennyson. Tim is survived by his son, Clark (Katie) Tennyson; his daughter, Claire Tennyson and a grandson, Thomas Clark Tennyson all of Hot Springs, Ark. His mother, Francis Tennyson of Smackover, Ark.; brothers, Chuck (Carol) Tennyson of Little Rock, Ark. and Drew Tennyson of El Dorado, Ark.; one nephew, Josh (Emily) Tennyson of Little Rock, Ark. and one niece, Tess Tennyson of El Dorado, Ark. There will be a private graveside burial for family then a memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Smackover, Ark., 500 West 7th St. The family will receive friends and family at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Smackover, 500 W. 7th St., Smackover, Ark. 71762, First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs, Ark, 1100 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Ark. 71901 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
