Hazel Rae Rutledge

Hazel Rae "Hazie" Rutledge, 93, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, at Kennett, Missouri. She was born April 19, 1921, in Independence County, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late George Frank and Clara Parnell Langston. She was united in marriage to Hugh Ed Rutledge. Mr. Rutledge preceded her in death. Ms. Rutledge worked for many years for Victor Metals Manufacturing in Newport, Arkansas, before moving to Memphis, Tennessee, to work in the meat department for several large grocery chains from which she retired. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Ms. Rutledge was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her three children: her daughter, Dianne Phillips and husband Mike of North Little Rock, Arkansas, her daughter, Donna Morgan and husband Jerry of Piggott, Arkansas, her son, Terry Hugh "Chuck" Rutledge and his wife Frances of Arlington, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Paige Buffington, David Phillips, Shawn Morgan, Shana Morgan, Wendy Moore, Amanda Bromley, and Erin Pilcher; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorthy Turner and husband Paul of Conway, Arkansas; her brother, Boyce Langston and wife Judy of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother-in-law, Joe Younger of Newport, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Newport, Arkansas, with Jerry Morgan officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
