Elbert C. "Bud" Price, 77, of Little Rock went to be with his Lord & Savior Tuesday, 16 December 2014. Born in Little Rock on March 18, 1937, to parents Ruben Wesley Price and Bessie McWilliams Price, he is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wesley H. Price and his infant brother and sister born April 1936. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Ruth Bennett Price, daughters Melissa Ruth Price and Michelle Leann (Adam) Settle, grandson and Best Buddy Cullen Tate Settle, sister, Nancy (Fred) Nielsen and sister-in-law, Fay Price. Bud owned and operated Bud Price Excavating Service, Inc. and Price Utility Contractors, Inc. with his wife, Ruth, for many years in the Little Rock area. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, a 50 year member of the Iron Springs Masonic Lodge #342, Scottish Rite Valley of Little Rock and the Baseline Missionary Baptist Church. An avid nature enthusiast and outdoorsman, he was also a member of the Pile Brothers Sporting Club. The family wishes to express special thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff, especially the staff of the PACU at the Arkansas Heart Hospital for their outstanding and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, The Arkansas Heart Foundation (1701 S. Shackleford Rd., Little Rock, Ark. 72211), the National Rifle Association or the Pulaski County Humane Society. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Griffin Leggett Healy & Roth, 5800 West 12 St., Little Rock. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ironton Baptist Church, 14718 Ironton Cutoff, Little Rock with internment to follow in Ironton Cemetery. Elbert Cullen Price will forever and always be in the hands of the Lord and the hearts of those that shared his life. His spirit and love will forever remain.
