Claud Crace

Claud Crace, 87, passed away on December 13, 2014 in Austin, Texas. Claud was born in Blackey, Ky. on January 16, 1927 to Henry P. Crace and Mary Blair Crace and was one of eleven siblings. Claud was married to Shirley L. Crace for 63 years. Their 64th wedding anniversary would have been Feb. 2, 2015. Claud joined the US Navy during WW2 and served on destroyers and landing ships and served in the Tarawa and Okinawa campaigns. In 1949 he left the Navy and joined the US Air Force and retired in 1966. He then had a second career with the US Postal Service until retirement. Claud was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Shreveport, La. Claud is survived by his wif,e Shirley and so,n Max Crace, grandchildren, Melea, Taylor and Colby, and his siste,r Elaine Carr and brother, Ray Crace. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Harrell Funeral Home, Burial will be at 12 noon, Monday, December 22, 2014 at Texas State Veteran's Cemetery, Killeen, Texas.
