Billie Bice, age 82, of Benton passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014. Billie was born in Ward, Ark. on July 23, 1932 and was preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Talkington; mother, Ruble Cozart Haley and her husband, O. E. Bice. Billie is survived by one daughter, Debbie Bagley and her husband, John Bagley; one brother, Sam Talkington and his wife, Suzanne; one niece, Toni Hughes and one nephew, Todd Talkington and his wife, Julie. Billie served as assistant to mayors of Benton, Ark. for 27 years and enjoyed many friends and relationships through her work and life. She especially enjoyed her Bunko nights and her Thursday lunch group. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and taught children's Sunday School for many years. She graduated from Bauxite High School. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23 at Ashby Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton, Ark. Pastor Frank Thurman of Calvary Baptist Church will preside over the services. Pallbearers are George Davis, Dave Gammill, Greg Glover, Jim Martin, Elbert Ragsdale and Richard Stracener. Honorary Pallbearers are Sharon Andrews, Gale Burkes, Cheryl Huddleston, Claudia Smith, Beverly Vineyard and Carolyn Waddington. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation to Claudia Smith, Beverly Vinyard and Carolyn Waddington for their friendship, love and bedside care for Billie through her illness. In addition, our thanks and appreciation to Saline Memorial Hospital and Dr. Daniel Cartaya.
