James Douglas "Doug" Atherton

James Douglas "Doug" Atherton, 80, of North Little Rock passed away Saturday, December 20th. Born in Guerdon, Arkansas, he is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Katie (Atherton) Flowers. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 55 years, Rosemarie Atherton, son Ronnie (Michelle) Atherton, daughters Judy Atherton and Janette (Eddie) Thomas, grandsons Sammy Atherton, Danny Atherton, Evan Thomas and Eric Thomas. Doug worked for Union Pacific Rail Road as an Engineer for 42 years. He also loved to hunt and fish as often as possible. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, December 26th at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Rest Hills Memorial Park at 1 p.m.
