Rev. Calvin Jackson, 65, of Marvell, Ark., died December 18, 2014 at UAMS Medical Center. Calvin was born on August 13, 1949 to the late Flora and Adolph Jackson. He was a very generous and caring family man, pastor and neighbor who touched the lives of many with his sense of humor, self-sacrifice and resiliency throughout his illness. Calvin was the pastor of St. Joseph and New Zion M.B. Churches of Marvell and served as Vice President and President of the Bethlehem District Congress of Christian Education. He also received his Pastor's Alternative Certificate at the National Baptist Sunday School Publishing Board Conference. Calvin owned and operated his own trucking company, which he loved. However, his primary love outside of the church was bonding with his family over meals and conversation. Other exceptional talents and pastimes included grilling, fishing, gardening and hunting. Calvin married Ann Prowell in 1972 and was blessed with three children. Later, in 2005, he married Doris Morris. Left to cherish his memory are: his wife and caregiver, Doris Jackson of Marvell, Ark.; three children, Celeste Phillips, Dr. Charolette Ruth and Micah Jackson; two step-daughters, Carol Birth and Kimberly Milburn, eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Ferguson and many other relatives and friends. Funeral: Noon Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Mt. Zion M.B. Church, Marvell. Arrangements entrusted to Kincaid Funeral Services (870) 572-3336. More info at www.kincaidfuneralservices.com.
