Gerald Haze "Jerry" Sparks

Captain Gerald Haze "Jerry" Sparks (US Army Ret), 71, of Texarkana, Texas died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 in a local hospital. He was the youngest son of the late E.L. "Sparky" and Lillian Sparks of Clarksville, Ark. Jerry was born May 28, 1943 in Lamar, Ark. He was a retired United States Army Captain, having served 20 years for his country. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hooks, Texas. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda and his brother, George. He is survived by his children, two sons and a daughter. Todd and Tracey of Harleysville, Pa.; Sherri and Eric Rozwodowski of St. Charles, Mo.; Kevin and Beverly of New Boston, Texas; one brother, Hank Sparks of Clarksville, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, Caitlin, Matt, Cody, Sarah, Tori, Devon, Alyson, Hayley, Taylor, Jadyn, Alden and Kevin "K.C." The mother of his children, Phyllis Sparks, and a number of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 12-1:30 p.m., with graveside services beginning at 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetary in Clarksville, Ark., with Rev. Keith Ducroz officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, Ark.
