James Caldwell "Toots" Clement

James Caldwell "Toots" Clement, 87, of Pine Bluff died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014. He was born Feb. 10, 1927 in Pine Bluff, son of John Manson and Florence Cearley Clement. Mr. Clement was reared and received his early education in Grapevine. He began his career at the Cotton Belt Railroad in 1945 and retired as a carman after nearly 45 years in 1989. Mr. Clement was a member of First Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a founding member of the Pine Bluff Gun Club, member of Grapevine Masonic Lodge #206 and Order of the Eastern Star #583. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Micah Styles; three brothers, A.J., V.M. and Jerrel Clement and two sisters, Bettye Jane Hopkins and Mildred Baker. Survivors include his wife, Nada Knighton Clement, whom he married May 16, 1947 in Pine Bluff; son, Billy Clement (Barbara) of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Carolyn Styles (Gary) of Lubbock, Texas and Glenda Treanor (Doug) of Oxford, Miss.; sister, Ann Spears of Greenbrier; five grandsons, Brad Clement (Lynette), Jared Styles (Suzanna), Nathan Styles (Ashley), Bryan Treanor and Spencer Treanor and one great-granddaughter, Elliott Styles. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Bro. Robert Cossey and Rev. Howard Loetscher officiating. Burial will follow in Clement Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Robinson's.
