James Alvin Stockton

of Little Rock, AR, 1934 - 2014

James Alvin Stockton, 80, of Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014. He was born on February 6, 1934 to the late Ruby and Ruth Taylor Stockton in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He was an Army veteran of 14 years who served his country in the Vietnam War and retired from McConnell Heavy Hauling after 25 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. James was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Lee Stockton; and daughter-in-law, Rosemaria Stockton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucille Wilkerson Stockton; three sons, Carl Johnston of Little Rock, Gary Stockton (Pattie) of Lonoke, and Teddy Stockton of Little Rock; one daughter, Rhonda Bunker (Jim) of Hensley; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Lavada Stockton of Memphis, Tennessee.
Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2015 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas (501-791-7400).
