Troy L. Townsend

Troy L. Townsend, age 53, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Mr. Townsend, son of Herbert and Mary (Walker) Townsend, was born on March 21, 1961, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Prior to his death, Mr. Townsend worked as a landscaper and in the construction industry. He loved to watch eagles; he also loved music and muscle cars, especially Oldsmobiles. Survivors include his father, Herbert Townsend, of Washburn; one brother, Kenny Townsend, of Cassville; two sisters, Lanna Cook and her husband David, of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Cathy Townsend, of Washburn; two nephews, Kynan Pratt, and Coy Cook; three nieces, Amber Trammell, Brittney Brace, and Casey Brace; eleven great-nephews and great-nieces; and special friends, Luther and Kathy Gardner, of Pineville. Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Townsend, on April 15, 2011, a special friend, Tim McIver, and his special dog in life, Sandy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the White Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville, with Pastor Jamie Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Lee Townsend, Jason Townsend, Jerry Townsend, Marty Townsend, Luther Gardner, Chuck Jester, and Darrell Windle. His brother Kenny Townsend will serve as honorary pallbearer. Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
