Fred Willis

Mr. Fred Willis, age 86, of Forrest City, died Friday at the Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City. He had been in poor health for the past six months. Mr. Willis was born March 20, 1927, in Emmet, Arkansas, and was the son of Ray Willis and Iber Martindale Willis. He lived in Forrest City since 1953, was a barber stylist, a Veteran of World War II, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Willis married Mary Adams in 1951, and she survives him along with two daughters; Lynda Boydston of Southlake, Texas, and Vicki Ragin of Columbia, South Carolina, five brothers; Frank Willis and Jimmy Willis, both of Texas, Herbert Willis of Conway, Coy Willis of California, and Arthur Willis of Florida, two sisters; Shirley Reese of Harrison and Carolyn Misenheimer of Rogers, and four grandchildren. He had one son, Freddie Willis, three brothers and three sisters, who all preceded him in death. Services for Mr. Willis will be held at the First Baptist Church in Forrest City, 11 a.m. Monday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.
