Colin Joe Funderburg

Colin Joe Funderburg, 63, of Van Buren, died Jan. 31, 2014. He was born Dec. 17, 1950, in Bingen, Ark. to the late James Warren "Doc" Funderburg and Cornelia Pomrenke. He is a 1968 graduate of Lamar High School and he graduated from the University of the Ozarks Summa Cum Laude, in 1972. He coached and taught English at Lincoln, Lavaca and Atkins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ronald Funderburg. Joe is survived by two daughters, Jenny Mitchell and husband, Matt, of Hot Springs and Cara Mayall and husband, Matthew, of Cordova, Tenn.; two brothers, Jim Funderburg and Gary Funderburg, both of Alma; a sister, Mary Jane Bittick of Tulsa, Okla.; two granddaughters, Kailey and Emily Mitchell, both of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe's funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, with Dale Walker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
