Jessie J. Wallis, 96, of North Little Rock passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Born on September 15, 1917, to George C. Young and Hattie Mae Cox Young, Mrs. Wallis is preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, John H. Wallis; and a son-in-law, Myron J. "Mickey" Willett. She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Lee Willett of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Michele Honeycutt (Wes) of Mayflower, Mike Willett (Michelle) of North Little Rock, and Joanna Paladino of McRae; and three great-grandchildren: Taylor Honeycutt, Rachael Honeycutt, and Lisa Paladino. A retired bookkeeper, Jessie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Elkettes, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Order of Eastern Star. Known to her family as "Mama Jo", Jessie was always busy with something. She enjoyed fishing with her son-in-law and was an avid gardener. Jessie also loved playing bridge and continued to play through the latter years of her life. Missed by all who knew her, Mrs. Wallis will be laid to rest at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock on Thursday, February 13th. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas.
