Winnie Nevada Kennedy Tice, an angel on Earth, went home to be with the Lord February 10, 2014. Born February 17, 1921 to the late Nolia and Floyd Kennedy in Luxora, Arkansas. One of eight children she graduated from Osceola High School in Osceola, Arkansas. She married Robert V. Tice Sr. in 1940. In 73 years together, they had two sons, Robert V. Tice, Jr. (Ednita) and James F. Tice (Margurette), two grandaughters, Rhonda Marlar (Mike) and Melissa Stacks (Scott). Winnie found tremendous joy in her great grandchildren, James, Anna and Dean Marlar, Mary and Rob Pickens. She was lovingly known as "Monk" and "Grandma Great". Winnie was a gentle spirit that loved God and the Church her entire life. She wore the armor of God every day and practiced love, peace, joy, patience, gentleness, goodness and self control in her daily walk. Her granddaughters often sought her wisdom and prayers. She taught the four and five year old Sunday School class for more than thirty years. She enjoyed serving every bride, new mother and grieving family of her church with her delicious food and hospitality without ever expecting anything in return. Her hobbies included sewing for her granddaughters, cooking Christmas Eve lunch, and planting a garden every year. She retired from Westinghouse after 32 years of service. The family will celebrate Winnie's life and the legacy that she has left behind on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Geyer Springs Church of Christ, 6004 West 53rd St., Little Rock, Ark. 72209 with Dale Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Winnie's desire was that all children know God's love. Memorials may be made to the Southern Children's Home, P.O. Box 649, Morrilton, Arkansas 72110. Please send your messages of love, comfort and support to her online guestbook at www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
