Lora V. Daniel, longtime resident of Ashdown, Arkansas passed away Sunday evening February 9, 2014; surrounded by family members at the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Preceded in death by her husband, of 56 years, Curtis Daniel and infant son Curtis Daniel Jr. Lora was born May 19, 1921 to Neal and Jessie Malone Ferqueron. Lora was a retired employee of the USDA/Soil Conservation, and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashdown, the local chapter of PEO and the retired federal employee's chapter 1668/Ashdown. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid bridge player with her many friends and family. Lora is survived by her son, James Russell Daniel and wife Diane Oliver Daniel of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, three grandchildren, James Bradley Daniel and wife Christy Vogler Daniel of Charlotte, NC, Allison Suzanne Daniel Zelinski her husband Dr. Adam John David (AJ) Zelinski of Austin, Texas, Amy Kathleen Daniel Atkins her husband Matthew Scott Atkins of Leander, Texas, two step-grandsons, Paul and Amanda Chapracki, James and Amber Chapracki of Fayetteville, Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Adam, Abigail and Alexander Zelinski and Ava Atkins; three step-great-grandchildren, Oliver, Isaac, and Ruby Chapracki; her sister, Marty Williams of Texarkana, Ark.; numerous nieces and nephews in Texas and Arkansas. Visitation will be held Saturday February 15, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, Ark. Funeral Services will be at Hilltop Bible church in Ashdown on Sunday February 16, 2014 at 1 p.m. with retired pastor Ralph Burns presiding. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials to be given to the Ashdown Cemetery at P.O. Box 1135, Ashdown, Ark. 71822 in memory of Lora V. Daniel.
