Mike Brown

Mike Brown, age 60 of Strong, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at the St. Vincent's Infirmary Center, in Little Rock. He was born Oct. 5, 1953 in Warren, Ark. to Ruby Barrett Brown and the late Larkin Brown. He was a high school coach and teacher and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid reader, loved fishing and history, was an excellent cook and loved a good political argument. Mike was a very quiet person who dearly loved his family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Ruby Barrett Brown of Monticello; one brother, Bruce Brown and wife Lisa of Monticello; one sister, Cherie Brown of Monticello; one nephew, Barrett Brown and fiance Meri Whitney Zieman; one niece, Rachel Kellum and husband John David of Monticello; and a special friend, Mary Claire Smith. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Bruce Venable officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
