Allan Curtis Dunn 75, of Choctaw, Arkansas ended his watch Tuesday, February 18, 2014. He was born June 7, 1938 in Torrance, California to Vern Elwyn and Dixie (Whitson) Dunn Sr. They moved to Ashland, Ore. where Allan was on the High School Football & Track Teams. Allan served our Country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He is a Viet Nam War Veteran. Allan served his Community in Law Enforcement for 30 years. He went to Bosnia 1999-2000 as part of the United Nations Police Monitor. He married Donna Stobaugh in 1991. Allan was a hardworking man, but he never passed up ther opprtunity to give someone a "hard time" and make them smile! He loved traveling, camping, fishing, John Wayne, Enchiladas, and Cherry Pie! Our words are inadequate to describe the man we called Husband, Daddy, Pop, Grandpa and Friend. Allan gave a lifetime of service to our Country and his Community and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vern Elwyn Dunn, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Donna Sue Stobaugh of the home, son, Casey Allan (Casey Ann) Dunn of Greenbrier, AR; three daughters, Debra Lynn Dunn (Kevin) Horne of Mountain Home, AR; Rebecca Ann Dunn (John) Sammons, and Stacy Renea Dunn of Clinton, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Dixie, Andrew, and Kaila, of Ohio; Sarah Jane, David, and Nicole "Spud", Zachary Allen and Jeremy of Arkansas; five great-grandchildren, Gage, Lily, Maddy, Taylor, and Hunter, of Ohio. He also has a dear cousins Carol Ann and Jerry Williams and family in Ashland, Ore. many close friends. Memorials may be made to the Van Buren County Animal Shelter or a Charity of your Choice. Those who wish, may give a flower to a friend in his memory. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Choctaw Park Pavilion Highway, 330 East Choctaw, Arkansas.
