Dennis Ray Beavers, born August 6, 1946 in Camden, Arkansas, united with his Cosmic Coach on February 20. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mona Jean Hurley, father William Beavers, and his brother Dwight Beavers. Dennis is survived by: his brother, Gary, sister, Rona, daughters, Lyndsay Beavers and Natalie Smith, his son, Brady, grandchildren Austin and Aubrey Smith and the loving community of Little Rock. Dennis will be remembered as a Vietnam Veteran and lifelong community servant. He gave his life to others with passion and truth. Dennis knew no stranger and provided the coat off of his back. Dennis Beavers was one man that made a difference. Dennis graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1964, and later received his MSW from the UofA. Early on, he worked to establish programs and services for high risk youth and families. His recent work focused on the needs of the forgotten and destitute in Central Arkansas. A community memorial service will be held honoring Dennis' work at 2 p.m. on Sunday located under the Little Rock Broadway Bridge.
