Verdeal Collison

Verdeal Collison, 89, died Friday. She was born July 17, 1924 in Russell to the late John and Tina (Hall) Hinkle. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church in Bald Knob. She was a wonderful cook who loved gardening and spoiling her grandsons Jason and Jonathon, even as they become adults. She is survived by her husband of 68 1/2 years, Henry Collison; daughter, Tina Sue Perkins (Tom); two grandsons, Jason Goad (Andrea) and Jonathon Goad (Ashley); four great-grandchildren, Jada, Skylar, Jackson and Judson Goad; sister, Sarah Throckmorton and brother, Gerald Hinkle. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, William Henry Collison; and five siblings, Capitola Bright, Medreth McGrew, Verl Hinkle, Dortha Smith and Novell Anunson. Visitation: Sunday from 6-8 p.m. Services: Monday, February 24, 2014, 10 a.m., Powell Funeral Home Chapel-Bald Knob with Bro. Derek Collins giving the eulogy and her grandson, Bro.
