Plumer Peeler

Plumer Burnett Peeler, age 89, of Malvern, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born September 15, 1924 in Benton, Arkansas. Mr. Peeler was a retired carpenter. He was a U.S. Army Veteran with the 83rd Infantry having served during WWII, the Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Hedge Row and Normandy. He received several medals during his service including the Purple Heart. Mr. Peeler was a 50 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 217. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Turner Peeler and Eula Eugene Carlisle Peeler; his wife, Wilma Mavis Caddy Peeler; three brothers, David Peeler Jr., Harold Peeler and Eugene Peeler and three sisters, Wilma Peeler Carden, Faitha Peeler Cox and Helen Peeler Ross. He is survived by his five sons, Plumer Burnett Peeler Jr. (Buffy) of Vacaville, California, Jerry Lee Peeler (Karen) of Vacaville, California, Kenneth Howard Peeler (Vicky) of Escalon, California, David Anthony Peeler (Nancy) of Benton and Darell Wayne Peeler (Cassandra) of Sacramento, California; two brothers, J.W. Peeler of Tucson, Arizona and John Peeler of Weatherford, Texas; two sisters, Anna Peeler Pickard of Benton and Elsie Peeler Whitley of Benton; 19 grandchildren including Jill Nicole Peeler, Plumer Burnett Peeler III and Donald Richard Wright and 32 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 26 at Ashby Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 27 at Tulip Cemetery in Tulip, Arkansas. Rev. Walt Garrett, Pastor of Parkview United Methodist Church, will be officiating. Family Comments: Special thanks to the Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
