Linda Joyce Vanwinkle

Linda Joyce Heffington Vanwinkle, 65, of Ozark, Missouri formerly of North Little Rock passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. She was born in Little Rock to the late Avery Dewitt and Blanche Hensley Heffington. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Brenda Heffington. Linda was a faithful wife of 47 years, and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. A member of the Church of Christ and a strong woman of Faith dedicating her life to God and to teaching others. She was a proud teacher in the public school system in Arkansas. She taught children's Bible classes at several congregations and leaves a legacy of strong Christians through the building of their firm foundations. She also worked transcribing Bible lessons for Truth For The World and was active writing to people through the Bible Correspondence courses. Linda was a true woman of God and left the world in a better way than she found it. Linda is survived by her husband, Leslie Vanwinkle, of North Little Rock, Ark.; sons, Bryan Vanwinkle and wife Laura of Springfield, Mo., Phillip Vanwinkle of Malaysia, Daniel Vanwinkle and wife Jessica of Jacksonville, Ark; grandchildren, Caylen, Kristin, Slayton, Alayna, and Caleb; her sister Sharon; and brothers, Dennis, David, and Aaron. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400). Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home with Mr. Gary Neal officiating. Interment will follow at Brownsville Cemetery, Lonoke, Ark.
