Joseph (Jay) Edward Kilpatrick, III, went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2013 at the age of 40. Jay was born in Fayetteville, Ark. to Joseph and Willie Kilpatrick. Jay was preceded in death by his grandfather Joe Kilpatrick and grandparents Lorene and Burton Farquharson. Jay is survived by his parents, sister Cindy Kilpatrick, uncle Dr. Steve (Sandra) Kilpatrick, aunt Mary Jane (Dale) Pavan, and uncle Ernest Farquharson, grandmother Edna Kilpatrick and several cousins. Jay graduated from Central High School in Little Rock, Ark. Jay attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was a Sigma Chi. He graduated from UALR with a degree in Humanities. Jay also graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. Jay was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, fishing, hunting and most of all playing golf. Most of all Jay loved spending time with his family and friends. Jay was mission minded and volunteered his culinary skills and expertise to cook for the Hurricane Katrina Evacuees at Camp Aldersgate. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Baptist Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit as well as the many friends and relatives for their prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wolf Street Center, P.O. Box 3708, Little Rock, Ark. 72203. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 North Shackleford.
