Vernon C. Rodgers
VERNON C. RODGERS, 89, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. He was born in Christian County, Ky. to the late Oliver Lewis and Blonnie Mae Cunningham Rodgers. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Kevin Noyes and Gary Lynn Roberts Jr.
He retired from the US Air Force as a veteran of three wars, WWII, Korean and Vietnam. He served his country well. He also retired from Remington Arms. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sherwood and American Legion. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Lavene; two daughters, JoAnna Healy Stahl of Ft. Myers. Fla. and Regina (Gary) Roberts of Sherwood; son, Clarence (Nelda) Harwell of Cabot; six grandchildren, Patrick, Sarah, Charli, Aaron, Cheryl and Allison; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Agnes Madden of Dixon, Ky., and Naomi Olgesby of White Plains, Ky.; and his brother, Cleatis Rodgers of Dixon, Ky.; and host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400). Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at the funeral home.
