DANIEL WARD MARVIN, 40, of Sherwood, Ark., passed from this life on Dec. 30, 2013, at his home. He is now at peace in the presence of our Savior. Dan was born on Nov. 3, 1973, in Rapid City, S.D., the son of Chief Master Sergeant and Mrs. Mike Marvin. He and his brother, Drew, had LOTS of exciting boyhood adventures as they lived in Germany and across the United States with their family during his dad's Air Force years. Dan was a Cub and Boy Scout, earning the Arrow of Light Award. Dan's love of learning led him to receive a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he was named to the Dean's List and Chancellor's List. His education continued at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. His proudest achievement there was to make Law Review and have his article published in the Law Review journal. Dan loved his work in law, especially being able to help his clients, and in the work of writing of briefs and legal research. He began his interests early in life. An avid ready, he LOVED books, the challenge of a 1,000 or 2,000 piece puzzle, collecting baseball cards, building intricate Lego sets, video games, and a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit!! A special pleasure was playing card games, board games, and tic-tac-toe with his five year old daughter, Avery—which she usually won!! Avery Danielle is Dan's cherished legacy to the world. He is survived also by his parents, Mike and Cindy Marvin of Sherwood; his brother, Drew of Doral, Fla.; and his family of uncles, aunts, and cousins from Mulberry, Ark., to Calif. We invite you to share in Dan's memorial with us on Monday, Jan. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724 Landers Rd NLR, Ark. 72117, and on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at First Pentecostal Church of Gravel Ridge. Dan's resting place will be at the New Cemetery in Mulberry, Ark.
