He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Ida Bell Abernathy; sons, Clayborn Abernathy Jr., Carlos Abernathy, Charles Baird; daughter, Cheryl Duhart; brothers, Jesse Abernathy Jr., Antone Abernathy (Rose), Rufus Abernathy; sisters, Dorothy Mitchell, Mildred Gantt; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and friends.
